The Art of Being Human: Shambhala Training Level 1 (Weekend Retreat)
with Jonathan Barbieri
Meditation practice helps us examine our states of mind without trying to change them. It encourages openness to oneself and what’s around us. Our old habits and patterns become more transparent, leaving room for a more direct appreciation of situations. This transforms the way we see our life and our world.
The Art of Being Human is the first in a series of contemplative weekend retreats for both beginning and experienced meditators. It is a path open to anyone seeking to develop peace, gentleness, and strength through the simple and profound techniques of mindfulness-awareness meditation.
The retreat includes:
- Guided mindfulness/awareness meditation instruction
- Talks on meditation
- Group discussion
- Walking meditation
- Light breakfasts on Saturday and Sunday
- Lunch on Saturday
(Sunday lunch is BYO or out on your own)
Shambhala Training is a series of contemplative workshops that are designed to teach mindfulness-awareness meditation practices, suitable for both beginner and experienced meditators, drawing from the concept of an enlightened society called Shambhala, emphasizing the potential for basic goodness within all people; allowing individuals to cultivate gentleness, confidence, and dignity in their daily lives.
No Prerequisites | Everyone is welcome! | This program is offered In Person and Online (hybrid).
