Before I Die: What is a “compost burial”? (a.k.a. soil transformation)
Join us for another edition of our Before I Die series! For this gathering, a representative from EARTH funeral services, will give a presentation on “soil transformation” — an environmentally friendly alternative to burial and cremation, which is sometimes referred to as “human composting.” There will be ample time for questions.
Over a 45-day process, a body is gently transformed into a cubic-yard of nutrient-rich soil. Families choose how much soil they would like returned—to scatter or use for planting—and the remainder is donated to local conservation projects for land restoration initiatives.
Participants in the presentation will be given a voucher for a discount if they choose to use this service. You will not be contacted unless you wish to be, and there is no pressure to use their service.
