Entering the Desung Path (Eagle Rock)
with Jan Jercinovic & Dan Peterson
“Entering the Desung Path” was originally designed to train Dorje Kasung members preparing to go the extra mile necessary to become a Desung, a “Protector of Harmony and Bliss” for the sangha. It soon became clear that this program was of tremendous value to anyone willing to work with difficult situations, especially in Shambhala leadership. This includes Shambhala Council members, meditation instructors, Shambhala Guides and Health and Well-Being representatives. Dorje Kasung members who have some service experience are especially encouraged to attend. Anyone who has previously taken this program is welcome to extend their training by attending for half price.
Our ability to move forward as a global society working toward enlightenment rests on how we hold a space that accommodates everyone with genuineness. This weekend is focused on building skills for supporting individuals with physical and emotional challenges, promoting health and well-being, and stepping in when there is conflict. It’s about being open, willing to be on the spot, present with challenging situations that arise. The program has evolved over time, endeavoring to meet the needs of our current social situation and all of its issues.
We are very fortunate to have Desung Arm Commander, Jan Jercinovic, Rupon and also Desung Care & Conduct Officer Dan Peterson, Kado as the Directors for the training.
Being a “Desung” means being willing to explore our innate wisdom by embodying generosity, gentleness and fearlessness in our daily lives. This program is a prerequisite for Dorje Kasung who wish to apply to become members of the Desung Arm of Service. As mentioned, it is full of useful tools for anyone dealing with challenging situations. Your early registration is appreciated. Everyone will need to register no later than March 31st.
