The Desung Arm of the Dorje Kasung protects access to the experience of harmony and supports the health and well-being of our community.  For over thirty years, the Desung Arm of the Dorje Kasung has been stepping forward to engage in challenging situations.

In this highly interactive and experiential workshop we will explore the Desung path and how we can bring the experience of basic goodness into our personal, professional and organizational lives.

Members of Shambhala who are in leadership positions, involved in Community Care or Health and Well-Being positions, or have professional involvement in the helping professions are welcome to attend.  In addition members of the Dorje Kasung are especially encouraged to attend.  This program will also serve as the entry level training for Dorje Kasung who would like to apply to be members of the Desung Arm.

This weekend will be a special opportunity to exchange insights for working with the challenging situations that arise in our community and in our lives, including all that has arisen in Shambhala recently.   Participants will be invited to share their own experiences.

Facilitators for this program are:
Dan Peterson - Desung Care and Conduct Officer.  He is the Garuda Region Desung Commander and a member of the Desung Command Council.
Kristen Mullen - Assistant Garuda Region Desung Commander.  Kristen is also an Upadhaya, a Shambhala Chaplain.
Laura Burnham - Windhorse Regimental Desung Commander.  Laura also serves on the council guiding Shambhala Families & Children.

The Shambhala Center of Los Angeles remains open because of the ongoing generosity of our community. One of the cornerstones of our policy is that no one be turned away for lack of funds. If you can’t afford a program, please call our office (323-255-5472) to register based on what you can afford. At the same time, the Center relies on program revenue to cover costs. For those who are able to pay more than the program price, your generosity in paying the Patron Price helps cover the costs for others who are not able to pay the full price, and provides additional support to the Shambhala Center of Los Angeles. Thank you for your kindness!

If you cancel more than 7 days prior to your class (and have already paid), you will receive a full refund less a processing fee of $15. If you cancel between 1 to 7 days prior to arrival, we will credit your payment towards another program at Shambhala Los Angeles to be used within 1 year. No refunds or credits are issued for cancellations received fewer than 24 hours prior to arrival.
