The Westside Shambhala Center, located in Santa Monica, offers practice and study in the lineage of Shambhala Buddhism, unique in the world of Western Buddhism.

The entrance is located behind the drycleaners in the alley just east of 14th, and just north of Broadway.
Sitting Practice
We sit on Sundays from 4:00-5:30 pm , with informal group discussion from 5:30-6:00 pm. The last half hour will be a chance to discuss what comes up in our meditation practice, ask questions of trained Meditation Instructors, and to connect with other members of the Westside Community. Sitting practice includes short periods of walking meditation.
What We Offer:
We offer Free Meditation Instruction as well as a wide variety of classes and programs in meditation, Buddhist teachings and many other disciplines.
We offer a wide range of Meditation and Contemplative practices, teachings and talks by senior practioners.

First Sunday of the month: “What is Shambhala?” Free talk with Q & A 5:30 – 6:00 pm
NOTE: Monday's 1/9/12 Sitting In, and Wednesday's 1/11/12 KSD talk are cancelled due to cunstruction.

Wednesdays: Kitchen Sink Dharma: Mixing Meditation with Everyday Life happens every Wednesday at 7:30 pm for a $10 suggested donation. Kitchen Sink Dharma is a weekly talk and discussion about the relationship of meditation to everyday life. Includes meditation instruction and refreshments. All are welcome; newcomers as well as seasoned practitioners. Click here for schedule.
Sitting In: A Meditation and Discussion Group for the Twenty-Something Sangha, is our new opportunity for those in their late teens to early thirties to get together for meditation and socializing. Meeting every Monday Night at 7:30, the evening will be open and relaxed, and will include a period of meditation (with instruction for those who are new), a contemplation/reading/talk/or discussion, and then time to socialize. This night is always free and open to all, at any level of experience.
