SMCLA’s New Director Cynthia MacKay’s Shambhala Day Address

Cynthia presented her vision for Shambhala Meditation Center of Los Angeles addressing the Los Angeles community on Shambhala Day. Cynthia MacKay has been a student of Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche for over 20 years. On March 23rd, 2014 Cynthia will officially take her oath to be the new director of Shambhala Meditation Center of Los Angeles. She has traveled extensively through Asia receiving teachings from many other renowned Buddhist teachers, including the 17th Karmapa. Cynthia is now following in her teacher’s footsteps by running marathons. She is also actively involved in teaching meditation at Men’s Central Jail and a drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility in Malibu.

I was released November 7, 2014 and What I learned from her gentle and skilled instruction on meditation techniques is why I was able to smoothly re-intergrate back into society.
