Bodhisattva Vows 2012
with Acharya Allyn Lyon
“Planting such a seed as the bodhisattva vow undermines ego and leads to a tremendous expansion of perspective. Such heroism, or bigness of mind, fills all of space completely, utterly, absolutely. Within such a vast perspective, nothing is claustrophobic and nothing is intimidating. There is only the vast idea of unceasingly helping all sentient beings, as limitless as space, along the path to enlightenment..." - Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche
It is recommended that you have taken Refuge Vows six months to a year before planning to take the Bodhisattva Vow, that you have an ongoing meditation practice and that you have established a relationship with a meditation center. In addition, prior to taking the vow, you should schedule an interview with your Meditation Instructor who will then forward a recommendation to the SMCLA Practice Coordinator.
To obtain an application form for the Bodhisattva Vow, or if you have questions, please contact Marilyn Moore, SMCLA Practice Coordinator at marilyn.moore108@gmail.com.
A teacher’s gift is appropriate as detailed in the application form and there will be a modest materials fee. (There are no additional charges for the Bodhisattva Vow Interview, Orientation and Ceremony.)
