Intensive meditation practice enables us to experience a profoundly fresh view of our lives—so precious in this hectic world. Engaging in such practice in a group setting provides powerful support for this process and a rich training ground for the creation of a compassionate society.
Designed for both newcomers and experienced students, this retreat includes sitting and walking meditation, individual interviews and lectures. You are invited to participate for the entire week, for just a day or for several days. Individual day registration is $60.00. Meals are included in the registration price. On Thanksgiving Day, a complete, traditional turkey dinner will be served. Join the meditation and enjoy a Thanksgiving dinner with practitioners.
The retreat will conclude at noon on Sunday, November 25. That afternoon, Acharya Allyn Lyon will conduct refuge and bodhisattva vow ceremonies. If you are considering taking either vow, contact Marilyn Moore, SMCLA Practice Coordinator (firstname.lastname@example.org) for more details.
Full participation in the program will count toward one week of the dathun requirement for Enlightened Society Assembly or the weekthun requirement for Shambhala Guide Training. To receive credit you must register for this program and attend all three sessions daily.
