The Sadhana of Mahamudra presents a vajrayana view, bringing together the devotion mahamudra of the Kagyu lineage and the crazy wisdom of the Nyingma lineage. As such, it provides a powerful touchstone for understanding our vajrayana heritage.

The Sadhana of Mahamudra is a seminal practice which addresses the problems of the current age and how to overcome them. Written in 1968 by Chögyam Trungpa while on retreat in Bhutan, it represents a profound milestone in the introduction of Buddhism to the West.  Highly recommended for anyone interested in sadhana practice.

Please refrain from wearing perfume, cologne, or scented products to the LA Shambhala Center as some of our participants have severe scent-related allergies.

Shambhala is an international community of urban meditation and rural retreat centers founded by the Vidyadhara Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, and now led by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche. Learn about our vision, lineage & community. More →
